SNAP fails to set MTRR registers properly with 4 GB of installed RAM

Description

This is a ThinkCentre A57 with a PCIe type ATI X600 plugged into the PCIe X16 slot. The card is perfectly supported by SNAP and works properly.

However if I plug in 4 GB of RAM, SNAP fails to set the MTRR registers properly for write combining. Result (as to be expected) is a much slower video performance.

Please note that after installing http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/system/drivers/p6k7mtrr_v008a.zip the problem can be overcome by disabling writecombining in SNAP and using the VFBWC.EXE utility from the above package instead to set the MTRR registers properly.
