#19 new defect

SNAP fails with ACPI 3.20.01 and 6 cores active, works with 4

Reported by: Grimus Owned by: somebody

Severity: highest Keywords:

With the latest release of ACPI for eCS, my system with a Phenom II X6 1100t and a PCI-e ATI Radeon X850, connected to two Viewsonic VP2130b.

On eComstation 2.1 (english) using plain VGA, the system boots well without any ACPI parameters. All 6 cores are enabled and the WPS comes up. All fine.

However, if I install SNAP (build 505), the WPS is stuck with 6 cores. Mouse movement is impossible, C-A-D only sometimes works.

When I enable only 4 cores (MAXCPU=4), the computer boots very well, all the way to WPS, running both screens with 3200x1200 resolution across 2 screens.

Please let me know what info is needed to resolve this one.

As commented in #21, the system does boot with 6 cores enabled now. WPS startup is very slow though. But it does boot and run very stable with 3.21.04. So this ticket can be closed.
