Description

jan lambert who works on the generic wide screen enabler writes in an email to me:

I got the notice about SNAP, which is good news. Is it possible you could get an installer expert to do a quick modification that would allow the user to "force" an install in cases where the specific PCI-ID is not supported, but there is some support for the manufacturer? perhaps an option to alias a new (unsupported) PCI-ID to a supported one via an interactive query or an external text file. Then users could then do some web research or trial & error to find a possible matching supported chip. nVidia ships essentially one base level driver which supports all it's common chips. For our use that base probally supports a common interface for ann necessay functions.
